The beautiful white village of Jimena de la Frontera is situated on the edge of the Alcornocales Natural Park, the biggest cork forest in Europe.

With 250 days a year of sunshine, the area offers many opportunities for walking, cycling, hiking, horse riding and bird watching as well as swimming in the stunning Hozgarganta river which runs around the village.

There are various archaeological sites of interest to discover, including the 8th century Moorish castle at the top of the village.

The local shops and supermarkets are well stocked and the restaurants and bars serve delicious traditional food.

There are numerous fiestas during the year, including the horse fair in May and the flamenco festival in September.

The nearest beaches are 30 minutes away on the Mediterranean with great beach bars and restaurants.

Tarifa and the other beautiful beaches on the Atlantic offer windsurfing and other water sports.

There are numerous golf courses in the area including Valderrama and San Roque and lots of shopping and nightlife further along the coast.

Jimena is a great base for trips to Ronda, Seville and Granada.
